Peggy Wolverton

Organist

Peggy began organ studies in her hometown of Fremont. She holds a B.A. (K-12 vocal/instrumental music education) from Wayne State College with performance concentrations in pipe organ, piano and clarinet. A retired elementary music specialist, private piano instructor and organist, she has served churches and schools at Ft. Riley and Junction City, Kansas; Harlan and Iowa City, Iowa; New Orleans and Metairie, Louisiana; Anaheim, Tustin and Newport Beach, California; Crestview Hills, Kentucky and Cincinnati, Ohio. She has extensive collaborative experience with children’s choirs, school, university and symphonic choruses and soloists. Peggy also has professional experience as a civil litigation secretary and managed two law firms (in New Orleans and Newport Beach, CA). Prior to returning to Nebraska in 2019, she taught at Northern Kentucky University as Adjunct Professor of [Elementary] Music Education and served as organist at historic Covenant-First Presbyterian in Cincinnati, Ohio, where she mentored organ scholars from the University of Cincinnati College Conservatory of Music. She is married to Vance Wolverton, Ph.D. Professor Emeritus of Music Education (California State University-Fullerton). The Wolvertons are residents of Lakeside Village Lofts in Omaha.
