How it works

Enter the upper parking lot from Blondo Street and park on the far west side of the upper lot. Enter the pickup line at the south side of the parking lot and follow the arrows. Pick up your VBS bags first and then proceed to Kona Ice for your treats.

If you choose to stay and visit with other families, please remember to practice social distancing of 6 feet!

When you leave, please exit via the lower parking lot onto 132nd Street.

Thank you for coming to support Camp Carol Joy Holling (Nebraska Lutheran Outdoor Ministries)!

Kona Ice!

You will also have the opportunity to purchase a delicious treat from Kona Ice! Prices are $3.00, $4.00, and $5.00. Click here to see the picture of the items they will have. You will be able to pay with cash or credit card. They do ask that if you pay with cash, to please make sure you have the exact amount available. This is a safety measure, to prevent any germs from going back and forth. Kona Ice will be giving us 20% of the profit and we will be giving the donations to Camp Carol Joy Holling, which has been unable to host camp this year due to COVID-19. If you don’t feel like having a treat from Kona Ice, but would still like to donate to our cause, we will have the little church outside to collect your donations.

Wear your old VBS T-shirts!

Last, but not least, if you have a VBS t-shirt from years past, please wear it! We would love to see as many different shirts as possible!

Thank you so much and we look forward to seeing you all!

Safety Precautions

In order to make this fun event as safe as possible during these times, we will be using social distancing rules and guidelines. After parking in the upper parking lot on the west side, we ask that all family units stay 6 feet apart from other family units while in line and to please wear a mask if you plan on visiting with other families in the parking lot. There will be signs and arrows in the parking lot so you know where to go, and please follow any VBS leaders that are there to guide you. We will have the prepackaged bags by the main front door and the Kona Ice truck will be out in front of the preschool doors. You will enter the area by the main front doors and walk in front towards the preschool doors and back out to where your vehicle is parked. Please note the building will not be open but if there is a need for an emergency bathroom visit, please speak to one of the VBS leaders.

You can come anytime between 6-9pm. However, if at all possible we are asking people to come during their assignment timeframe, based on the first letter of your last name. The breakdown will be as follows:

  • A-K: 6-7:30 p.m.
  • L-Z: 7:30-9 p.m.

This is open to the entire congregation, and we ask you to follow the same times to come based on your last name if it is at all workable for you and your family.
