Serving Our World
Equal Exchange Fair Trade
We serve Fair Trade coffee from Equal Exchange each Sunday for our Fellowship hour between services. Fair trade coffee and chocolate is available for sale one Sunday a month.
“Equal Exchange’s mission is to build long-term trade partnerships that are economically just and environmentally sound, to foster mutually beneficial relationships between farmers and consumers and to demonstrate, through our success, the contribution of worker co-operatives and Fair Trade to a more equitable, democratic and sustainable world.”
Houses for Health
Houses for Health is a partnership program of Alegent Health and the Nebraska Synod – ELCA. So far, Saint Michael has provided 10 homes for people in Tanzania. Our first house was House # 24 in the Houses for Health program and our third house was built in memory of Bill Beschorner with the funding coming from our Friday morning Men’s Group. Please contact the church office for more information on how to get involved.
Lutheran World Relief Quilting
Please join us on the 3rd Saturday of each month anytime between 9–11:30 a.m. (September – May) to work on quilts for Lutheran World Relief.
If you’d like a sewing project at home, please consider making simple quilt tops for us (fabric provided and cut into squares if you prefer). Also, if you have a serger and would be willing to finish the edges of the quilts, we could use your help, too. You can either take the quilts home or bring your serger and work with us here at church.
Please consider helping us meet this growing need around the world!
